At the May 29, 2025 Board meeting, David Resende, Treasurer, reviewed the major portions of his street directional markers study, and his subsequent summary distributed to the Board by email on May 21, 2025. The two street signs in need of immediate replacement are the East Riga/West Riga signs and the Ogre/Perse signs. David previously purchased a new street sign for Venta/Perse and Whit Smawley, Board Member, previously purchased a new street sign for Bauska/Perse. The current West Riga/Venta street sign may benefit from a cleaning. David informed the Board that the cost for the two signs that require immediate replacement would be $456.00 ($228.00 each) and would include the street sign pole, the hardware, and the signs. David indicated there is sufficient funds in the approved 2025 budget for the purchase, not to exceed $500 (to cover expenses for cement and any other needed supplies), and made a motion to do so. The motion was seconded by Joe Keeley, Board President. A vote was called and the motion was passed. Dates and times will be scheduled to remove the street signs at the existing four locations (East Riga/West Riga, Ogre/Perse, Venta/Perse, and Bauska/Perse) and replace them with the new street signs. Available Board members and community volunteers will work the project.
